Hand-Painted Portraits for Etsy & Online Sellers
You already have the buyers. Custom pet portraits are one of the most searched gift categories on Etsy, and a shop that can promise “hand-painted in oil, from your photo” stands apart from the print-on-canvas listings around it. What you have not had is a studio that lets you order one at a time at a price that leaves you a margin.
That is the whole point of our trade program: a single order qualifies for trade pricing, ships blind with your branding, and comes with a proof step you can forward to your buyer. You list, sell and collect. We paint, proof and ship.
How sellers usually set this up
Most sellers start with a sample of their own pet at the discounted rate, photograph it in their own style and build the listing around those images and our process photos. They set their retail price against the trade list we send, choose two or three sizes and the Painterly or Refined level as defaults, and offer Hyperreal as a premium upgrade for memorial buyers.
Orders come in through Etsy; you forward the photo and the buyer’s notes to us by email or WhatsApp with the delivery address. We reply with a confirmation and the timeframe for that piece. When the painting is finished you get proof photos; when the buyer approves, it ships to them directly. Your shop handles the conversation, we handle the canvas.
The problem
What usually gets in the way
-
Wholesale price only starts at 10 or 50 pieces
Every studio you have asked wants a minimum. Custom portraits are made to order one at a time, so a 10-piece MOQ means buying at retail and selling on at retail — there is no margin left.
-
Your buyer must never see the supplier
One packing slip with the wrong name, one branded certificate, one studio sticker on the stretcher bar, and the buyer knows where the painting came from. Your listing is worth exactly as much as that secret.
-
You cannot promise what you cannot see
A buyer asks "will it really look like my dog?" and you have to answer before anything exists. Without a proof step you are guessing on the studio's behalf, and refunds come out of your pocket.
How we handle it
What we do about it
-
Trade pricing from the first piece
There is no MOQ. Your first order of one portrait is priced at trade, so a single Etsy sale is profitable from day one. Volume tiers are a conversation later, not a barrier now.
-
Ships unbranded, direct to your buyer, your card in the box
Nothing in the parcel identifies us. Send us your insert or certificate and we include it. Tracking comes to you; the buyer sees your shop from order to delivery.
-
A digital proof you can forward
Before anything ships you receive photos of the finished painting, including a raking-light shot of the brushwork. Forward them to your buyer, collect approval, and only then does the piece leave the studio.

Proof of hand
Real paint, real brushstrokes
Every piece is completed by one painter from start to finish — no assembly line. Below: a close-up crop of a finished painting, and a painter at work. Every image on this site is a photograph of real hand-painted work.
FAQ for etsy & online sellers
Can I use your portfolio photos in my Etsy listing?
Yes, with a licence we grant to trade accounts — use our process and sample images in your listings and mockups while the account is active. Your own commissioned pieces are yours to photograph and show as you like; we never publish trade orders without your permission.
What is a realistic processing time to put on my listing?
Ask us for the current typical range for your usual size and detail level, then add your own handling buffer. We confirm a timeframe on each order rather than promising fixed days, and we tell you immediately if a piece is running behind.
How do I handle a buyer who wants changes?
Collect their feedback at the proof stage and send it to us in one message. Adjustments to likeness, colour and background are part of the order. Changes to the brief after painting has started — a new photo, an extra subject — are quoted separately, so it helps to lock the brief before you confirm.
Can you ship rolled to save my buyer money?
Yes. Unframed pieces ship rolled in a rigid tube, which is far cheaper to send internationally than a crated framed piece. Many sellers offer "rolled, ready to frame locally" as their default option.
Do you offer a sample so I can photograph it for my shop?
Yes. Your first piece can be ordered at the discounted sample rate. Sellers usually paint their own pet, photograph the finished piece in their own style, and use those images in the listing.
